Letters of recommendation

To whom it may concern,

I have had the privilege of knowing Jackie for over 15 years. A friendship that began simply because you can’t ignore a fire spinner who performs with that kind of joy. In the time since, we have collaborated on a wide range of professional engagements: serving as Licensed Flame Effect Operators for Sony Interactive, producing fire spinning performances, and managing festival permitting and safety operations from the ground up. Jackie is one of the most dependable safety leads I have worked alongside. She is detail-oriented, adaptive under pressure, and holds herself to an uncompromising standard of professionalism. In the world of Licensed Flame Effect Operation, there is no room for shortcuts and Jackie simply doesn’t take them. Her commitment to doing things right is not a checkbox exercise; it reflects genuine integrity. What sets her apart is that this rigor coexists with real creative talent. Her passion for performance produces experiences that are rare in this field, technically sound and genuinely captivating. That combination is not easy to find. I recommend Jackie wholeheartedly to anyone seeking a performer, safety lead, or Flame Effects Operator who brings both artistry and accountability to the work.

Dear Members of the Board,
I am pleased to write this letter of recommendation for Jacquelyn Sheffield. I had the pleasure of working closely with Jacquelyn for about 5 years as fellow performers at paid private events, including festivals, birthday celebrations, and other large gatherings.

One of Jacquelyn’s greatest strengths is her versatility as a performer and collaborator. She possesses an impressive range of skills across multiple props and dance styles, and she has a natural ability to teach those skills clearly and patiently. Working with her was always a collaborative and enjoyable creative process because she stayed focused, used time efficiently, and regularly contributed unique choreography ideas. She also remained open to feedback and new concepts, which allowed us to build performances that were polished and innovative.

Jacquelyn also brings tremendous creative energy to themed events. She has a remarkable repertoire of memorable costumes and consistently shows enthusiasm for designing themed makeup, music, choreography, and visual concepts that elevate the overall experience for clients and audiences. When we prepared for events together, it always felt like we were delivering a truly premier experience to the client.

During that time, Jacquelyn also frequently accompanied me as my skilled assistant and fire safety specialist. Live performance events that involve fire arts require a high level of awareness, preparation, and professionalism. Jacquelyn consistently demonstrated all of these qualities. She actively developed a deep understanding of my set list, props, materials, and run-of-show logistics, enabling her to support my performances smoothly even in fast-paced and unpredictable event environments. She is attentive, organized, and intuitive about what a performer or event may need at any moment. During live events where many moving parts came together quickly, she proved herself to be calm under pressure, solution-oriented, and dependable. Her presence helped keep performances running smoothly and allowed me to remain focused and relaxed on stage.

Jacquelyn is an intelligent, considerate, kind, generous, and highly creative person. Her professionalism, reliability, and enthusiasm for creating memorable experiences would make her a valuable addition to festivals, community events, and tourism-focused programming across Louisiana. I strongly recommend Jacquelyn Sheffield to the Louisiana Association of Fairs and Festivals. I am confident that her talent, creativity, and collaborative spirit will contribute to engaging performances that audiences will remember.

Sincerely,

To whom it may concern,

Jackie “Miss FireFeat” Sheffield and myself have hosted a Wednesday night fire flow practice meeting for the past 10 years. It is the longest lasting flow & circus arts, spin jam (fire & LED), in Austin, TX. During that time I have come to know Jackie as a professional entertainer, dedicated to consistently improving her craft. To the point where she now performs seamlessly, controlling props with her feet. Resulting in uniquely crafted dance moves, of her own creation.

Her professionalism, communication skills, punctuality, reliability, skill level, attention to detail, and ability to anticipate the needs of the entertainers, safety professionals, and clients, is second to none. Her management skills enables her to assemble the best talent available. On projects as big as festivals, to smaller backyard events. She makes the flow easy for both the performers and clients, resulting in memorable entertainment. I know this from working with her as one of the entertainers in one of her troupes.

Jackie is licensed as a Flame Effects Operator (FEO), and is insured as a fire performer.

Jackie is a certified teacher, and has taught classes ranging from private lessons, to group sessions at Festivals. Her teaching style breaks down the esoteric nature of flow performing, into easily understandable steps, without being patronizing.

I highly recommend Jackie for any fairs, festivals, corporate, and private events.

Sincerely yours,

To Whom It May Concern,

It is my pleasure to recommend Jackie “FireFeat” for any opportunity she pursues. Jackie has served as our Fire Safety Lead, featured performer, and go-go dancer at Irregardless 13 Warehouse in Austin, Texas, for over two years. She has earned her role through consistent, reliable action and a strong commitment to safety and performance excellence.

When fire performance was first introduced at our venue, Jackie was one of several performers interested in establishing an open spin jam. While others participated sporadically and often without proper safety equipment or preparation, Jackie consistently arrived fully equipped, safety-focused, and ready to perform. In addition to her professionalism, she brought a uniquely engaging and dynamic performance style that quickly resonated with both guests and staff.

Through her dependability and leadership by example, Jackie naturally became the person guiding and managing the fire performance environment. By the time others expressed interest in formalizing the program, it was clear that Jackie had already taken on that responsibility in practice. From that point forward, she became our dedicated fire lead.

Jackie is professional, safety-conscious, and highly adaptable to the needs of any event. She consistently demonstrates sound judgment, strong work ethic, and a deep respect for both her craft and the environment in which she performs.

I recommend her without reservation.

Sincerely,
Mike Palm
